The New Year collection by Sorelle Era is always the most important for the brand. It is the culmination of the year, the highest point of meaning and mastery.
"Our main task is to create things that cannot be discarded, that gradually become old-fashioned," says Vera Kholmova, the creator of the brand. It is this approach that underpins the New Year collection, which not only seeks to become part of history, but also to rethink it through the prism of the Victorian era.
The collection aims to reincarnate ancient traditions in modern, bold and vibrant imagery, shaded by demonic and witchy motifs. "We reflected on the theme of suffering beauty, theatricality and decadence," adds Vera Kholmova. The main source of inspiration for the lookbook concept was the work of artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who captured life behind the scenes of the Moulin Rouge, cabarets and brothels. The collection also found a place to revisit the work of Egon Schiele, who portrayed incredibly beautiful women with difficult fates, rejected by society. Their complex but expressive poses were the key to creating the lookbook. The creation of this collection allowed Sorelle's couture work to be fully revealed, with an emphasis on hand-tailoring and exclusive prints.
